Jarrettsville Garage Becomes Family Room

Categories: Additions, Interiors

Our clients needed to add more living space to their first-floor area when their aging father recently moved in with them. Because they needed to keep an eye on him throughout the day, they decided to transform their existing garage area into a family room. That required a new entryway complete with foyer and pantry closets, and two staircases connecting the new space to both the exterior and kitchen levels. New windows and hardwood flooring were installed in addition to a desk alcove area and mounted television. The new space took on a seamless transition from the outside with new siding and portico. Now everyone in the house can have an area to themselves while still keeping everyone safe.
