Project Description
This extensive remodeling project included a great room addition plus a new kitchen, family room, dining room, and powder room for a home in the beautiful Greenspring area.
Because our client fell in love with a previous kitchen renovation on our website, many of the design features such as large cylinder pendant lighting, in-island cabinet microwave, translucent and opaque white backsplash tile, white shaker-style main cabinetry and cherry wood island were replicated but individualized for her taste. Specialty smart kitchen appliances provided the ability to modify temperatures and features remotely from a phone app.
In order to create an open-concept layout, the existing HVAC system was relocated to a new wall, and traditional hardwood flooring was chosen for a seamless look with the existing floor. Adjacent to the kitchen, a two-sided built-in shelf was repurposed to form a linear line in the new family room area.
A 16 x 24 ft. great room addition replaced an existing deck that was constructed with an independent heating system, new windows to both the backyard and kitchen, a dual functioning sliding glass door, and traditional hardwood flooring. A dry stacked stone façade was built as an accent piece to house the flat-screen television.
