When our client contacted us in October stating that she needed a brand-new fireplace in time for Thanksgiving, we accepted the challenge. Fortunately, we found a fireplace insert that would accommodate wood-burning logs. Being situated between two existing windows in the family room, it was now to become the new centerpiece. In order to have proper ventilation, the second floor needed to be structurally supported and a bedroom window replaced. For aesthetic purposes, the new chimney’s exterior was wrapped with matching siding. We created a hearth utilizing ledger stone and a distressed wooden mantle. Lastly, electrical work was completed to afford a forced air heater fan. The clients were left with only needing some firewood and a match to have the perfect cozy space.
